India. What can I say about this large, colorful, diverse country?
Well, I can tell you that joining this India tour ensures you will embark on such a unique trip, one that will undoubtedly be a constant learning experience, a remarkable challenge and an overall brilliant adventure! India is unlike any other place on the planet and you are going to explore so much of what it has to offer.
From cities to religious sites to palaces and quiet villages…from a variety of cuisine to a variety of landscapes…from moments that will bring you pure joy to moments that will leave you pondering life…in three simple words, this is India.
Please note: This itinerary is a shorter version of my regular India itinerary. It is designed for those with less time who still want to experience this fascinating destination.

Day 1: Delhi
After a morning orientation, we’ll embark on a full day of wandering around this sprawling city, with visits to religious and historical sights in both Old and New Delhi as well as a stroll through the largest local market and some mighty delicious local Indian food.
Day 2 - 3: Jaipur
It’s called the “Pink City” due to the color of some of its 19th century buildings…this city has it all – forts, palaces, temples, gardens, a massive local market and and the most famous cinema in India, where we’ll watch a Bollywood film.
Day 4 - 5: Agra
After a nice drive from Jaipur with some interesting stops along the way, on Day 11 we’ll have time to soak in the wonder of the Taj Mahal with a full morning dedicated to this beautiful monument of love. In the evening, we’ll catch a flight to Varanasi.
Day 6 - 8: Varanasi
The holiest city in all of India, this is the time to witness a truly complex and eye-opening combination of the strange, wonderful, disturbing, awe-inspiring and everything in between, with walks along the busy riverside, visits to temples dedicated to monkeys, sunrise boat rides on the Holy Ganges River, and witnessing both religious ceremonies and the constant open-air cremations along the burning ghats…this city will etch itself in your memory forever. (We’ll fly back to Delhi on the evening of Day 14.)
Day 9: Delhi
Back in the capital, today is departure day as we all part ways at the end of this most memorable trip.

Physical Level: While the tour itself is not very strenuous, please note that it can involve the following: somewhat long days, a good amount of walking, being in the sun in potentially hot temperatures, long journeys by bus or train (including overnight trips), early morning wake-ups and other similarly challenging scenarios.
Accommodation: Prices are based on the sharing of rooms and single members of the group will typically be put together. We will be using budget guesthouses/hotels that offer comfortable, but simple, facilities. All rooms will have a private bathroom. While I always do my best to secure as many rooms with two separate beds as possible, such rooms are not very common in India at all. Sometimes two members of the group might have to share a large bed. But that’s all part of the adventure and I guarantee we’ll have a blast anyway.
(If you wish to have a private room to yourself, the single supplement cost is $400 USD.)
Subject to Change: Keep in mind that the above itinerary and activities are subject to change. Travel almost always involves unexpected situations so things might need to be re-arranged at times. However, it is important to remember that travel is all about the journey, and so even the unexpected situations we may face should be treated as part of the overall experience!
Arrival Details: I do recommend arriving at least one day prior to the start of the tour so that you’ll be well rested (time to get over the jet lag!) and we can all start the tour together on that first day. If you do arrive early, I can arrange accommodation for you in Delhi depending on your budget and I will also be able to organize a private pickup from the airport for a nominal fee. I will arrive in Delhi 3-4 days before the tour begins.
