You will need a passport to travel to Southeast Asia. Your passport should be valid until at least August 2024 and it should have 2 full empty pages.
If you don’t have enough empty pages, please contact us and we will send you instructions for getting a new passport in time for the tour.
➜ Thailand – Citizens of the USA, some EU countries, Canada, and Australia are allowed to enter Thailand without a visa for stays of less than 30 days. As a result, no preparations are needed and you don’t need to obtain a tourist visa for this country.
➜ Malaysia – Citizens of the USA, most EU countries, Canada, New Zealand and Australia are allowed to enter Malaysia without a visa for stays of less than 90 days. As a result, no preparations are needed and you don’t need to obtain a tourist visa for this country.
➜ Singapore – Citizens of the USA, EU countries, Canada, New Zealand and Australia are allowed to enter Singapore without a visa for stays of less than 90 days. As a result, no preparations are needed and you don’t need to obtain a tourist visa for this country.
In order to participate in this tour, you will have to provide proof of travel/health insurance. Travel insurance provides peace of mind that, in case something happens, you don’t have to worry about paying for any health-related costs you may need or about being reimbursed for any travel expenses associated with flight delays or trip cancellations due to unforeseen reasons. It will also cover your possessions in the event that they are misplaced during the trip.
There are many options out there, so we suggest shopping around. Once you have it, please send proof of that insurance to team@wanderingearl.com for our records. You can do so by attaching a screenshot or downloading the policy confirmation.
Currently none of the countries require any specific immunizations to enter. However, it is always worthwhile to consult with a healthcare professional about any optional vaccinations that might be beneficial for you during the tour. These may include Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, Typhoid, Cholera, Yellow Fever, Malaria and Meningitis.
The tour’s official arrival day is January 20th and the arrival city is Bangkok. Please note that the arrival airport for this tour is the Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and your flight to Thailand should be booked for this airport only. There is a second, smaller airport in the city but we do not recommend flying into this one. Please only book flights to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK). In case that you decide to arrive early, we can arrange an extra night of accommodation for you at the hotel.
You will soon receive a travel arrangements form asking for your arrival details so that we can arrange your airport transfer and any extra accommodations you may need.
The tour’s official departure day is January 31st. Please note that the tour will finish in the city of Singapore. You can book your departure flight from the Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) at any time during that day. If you plan to stay in the city for an extra night or two, we can book extra nights of accommodation for you at the hotel we will use for the tour.
If you plan to remain in Singapore or head to any nearby countries after the tour, we can offer advice about where to go and what to do. We’d be happy to assist in any way we can as we are very familiar with this region of the world!
