The Best of Iceland
October 8th – 16th, 2024
Passport
You will need a passport to travel to Iceland. Your passport should be valid until at least May 2025 and it should have 2 full empty pages.
If you don’t have enough empty pages, please contact us and we will send you instructions for getting a new passport in time for the tour.
Visa
Citizens of the USA, EU countries, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are allowed to enter Iceland without a visa. Iceland is a part of the Schengen Zone, a European zone consisting of 27 countries. As a citizen of any of the mentioned countries, you are allowed to spend 90 days out of any 180-day period in the Schengen Zone as a whole.
Travel/Health Insurance
In order to participate in this tour, you will have to provide proof of travel/health insurance. Travel insurance provides peace of mind that, in case something happens, you don’t have to worry about paying for any health-related costs you may need or about being reimbursed for any travel expenses associated with flight delays or trip cancellations due to unforeseen reasons. It will also cover your possessions in the event that they are misplaced during the trip.
There are many options out there, so we suggest shopping around. Once you have it, please send proof of that insurance to team@wanderingearl.com for our records. You can do so by attaching a screenshot or downloading the policy confirmation.
Arrival in Reykjavik
The tour’s official arrival day is October 8th and the arrival city is Reykjavik. Please note that you should fly into the Keflavík International Airport (KEF).
We highly recommend arriving on the morning of October 8th as we’ll be organizing a trip to the Blue Lagoon before arriving at the hotel for our 3:00pm check-in. To participate in this excursion, you will need to arrive before 10:00am on October 8th. The group will be picked up at the airport in a private vehicle and whisked to the Blue Lagoon for a dip and lunch before moving to the hotel.
For guests arriving later that day, transfers to the hotel in Reykjavik will be provided using the FlyBus system. This system is a simple, frequent bus transporting passengers from the airport to the door of their hotel in Reykjavik.
You will soon receive a travel arrangements form asking for your arrival details so that we can arrange your airport transfer.
Departure from Reykjavik
The tour’s official departure day is October 16th. Please note that the tour will finish in the city of Reykjavik. You can book your departure flight from Reykjavik for any time during that day from the Keflavík International Airport (KEF). If you plan to stay in the city for an extra night or two, we can book extra nights of accommodation for you at the hotel we will use for the tour.
If you plan to remain in Iceland or head to any nearby countries after the tour, we can offer any advice about where to go and what to do. We’d be happy to assist in any way we can as we are very familiar with this region of the world!
That’s all for now!
We hope that you are getting very excited about our upcoming adventure to spectacular Iceland!
We will be in touch shortly with even more details. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to us anytime at team@wanderingearl.com
