You will need a passport to travel to Vietnam. Your passport should be valid until at least October 2024 and it should have 2 full empty pages.
If you don’t have enough empty pages, please contact us and we will send you instructions for getting a new passport in time for the tour.
Most travelers to Vietnam need a visa, however, citizens of the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and most European countries may easily obtain an “E-Visa”. With the E-Visa, you can simply take care of the procedures online.
Overall, the process is very easy, takes about 15 minutes and costs approximately $25 USD. You should apply for your E-Visa 30 days prior to the tour. We will send out the detailed instructions to obtain the visa through the official government website once the dates get closer.
In order to participate in this tour, you will have to provide proof of travel/health insurance. Travel insurance provides peace of mind that, in case something happens, you don’t have to worry about paying for any health-related costs you may need or about being reimbursed for any travel expenses associated with flight delays or trip cancellations due to unforeseen reasons. It will also cover your possessions in the event that they are misplaced during the trip.
There are many options out there, so we suggest shopping around. Once you have it, please send proof of that insurance to team@wanderingearl.com for our records. You can do so by attaching a screenshot or downloading the policy confirmation.
Currently Vietnam doesn’t have any specific immunization requriements. However, it is always worthwhile to consult with a healthcare professional about any optional vaccinations that might be beneficial for you during the tour. These may include Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, Typhoid, Cholera, Yellow Fever, Malaria and Meningitis.
The tour’s official arrival day is March 7th and the arrival city is Ho Chi Minh City. Please note that the arrival airport for this tour is the Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) and your flight to Vietnam should be booked for this airport only. Please only book your flight to Vietnam through the Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN). In case that you decide to arrive early, we can arrange an extra night of accommodation for you at the hotel.
You will soon receive a travel arrangements form asking for your arrival details so that we can arrange your airport transfer and any extra accommodations you may need.
The tour’s official departure day is March 21st. Please note that the tour will finish in the city of Hanoi. You can book your departure flight from the Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) at any time during that day. If you plan to stay in the city for an extra night or two, we can book extra nights of accommodation for you at the hotel we will use for the tour.
If you plan to remain in Vietnam or head to any nearby countries after the tour, we can offer advice about where to go and what to do. We’d be happy to assist in any way we can as we are very familiar with this region of the world!
For this tour we’re offering a three-night post trip extension to Cambodia, focusing on the bustling life of Siem Reap and the renowned Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world. While there, we’ll take you through Siem Reap’s neighborhoods to get a feel for local life, and of course, we’ll visit Angkor Wat’s main temples along with some that fewer visitors reach. We’ve also planned a day to explore the tranquil Cambodian countryside, featuring waterfalls, specialized craft villages, and rarely visited temples. To top it off, we’ll enjoy a sunset dinner boat ride on the Tonle Sap Lake. Everyone that books this extension can book their return flight from the Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport (SAI) on March 24th.
