You will need a passport to travel to Romania. Your passport should be valid until at least April 2025 and it should have 2 full empty pages.
If you don’t have enough empty pages, please contact us and we will send you instructions for getting a new passport in time for the tour.
Citizens of the USA are allowed to enter Romania without a visa. Starting on March 31st, 2024, Romania became part of the Schengen Zone, a European zone consisting of 29 countries. As a citizen of any of the mentioned countries above, you are allowed to spend 90 days out of any 180-day period in the Schengen Zone as a whole.
In order to participate in this tour, you will have to provide proof of travel/health insurance. Travel insurance provides peace of mind that, in case something happens, you don’t have to worry about paying for any health-related costs you may need or about being reimbursed for any travel expenses associated with flight delays or trip cancellations due to unforeseen reasons. It will also cover your possessions in the event that they are misplaced during the trip.
There are many options out there, so we suggest shopping around. Once you have it, please send proof of that insurance to team@wanderingearl.com for our records. You can do so by attaching a screenshot or downloading the policy confirmation.
The tour’s official arrival day is September 1st and the arrival city is Bucharest. Please note that the arrival airport for this tour is the Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP) and your flight to Romania should be booked for this airport only. In case that you decide to arrive early, we can arrange an extra night of accommodation for you at the hotel.
You will soon receive a travel arrangements form asking for your arrival details so that we can arrange your airport transfer and any extra accommodations you may need.
The tour’s official departure day is September 12th. Please note that the tour will finish in the city of Bucharest. You can book your departure flight from the Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP) at any time during the day. If you plan to stay in the city for an extra night or two, we can book extra nights of accommodations for you at the hotel we will use for the tour.
If you plan to remain in Romania or head to any nearby countries after the tour, we can offer any advice about where to go and what to do. We’d be happy to assist in any way we can as we are very familiar with this region of the world!
