Passport

You will need a passport to travel to Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Your passport should be valid until at least December 2023 and it needs to have 2 full empty pages.

If you don’t have enough empty pages, please contact us and we will send you instructions for getting a new passport in time for the tour.

Visa

  • KYRGYZSTAN – Citizens of the USA, EU countries, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are allowed to enter Kyrgyzstan without a visa for stays less than 60 days. As a result, no preparations are needed and you don’t need to obtain a tourist visa for this country.
  • UZBEKISTAN – Citizens of EU countries, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are allowed to enter Uzbekistan without a visa for stays less than 30 days. United States citizens require an “E-Visa. Getting your “E-Visa” is a simple process and you can take care of the procedure online. As the tour gets closer, we will be sending out the specific instructions for obtaining your visa, as you cannot apply for it until 90 days before the trip starts. The process is relatively straightforward and costs about $20 USD.

Covid-19

While travel restrictions and regulations are constantly changing around COVID-19, we are committed to ensuring the health and safety of our guests and will continue to closely monitor the situation around travel in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in the months leading up to the tour.

We will share more details on the specifics closer to the tour date, but we are currently anticipating that there will be no COVID restrictions to travel to neither Kyrgyzstan nor Uzbekistan.

Travel/Health Insurance

In order to participate in this tour, you will have to provide proof of travel/health insurance. Travel insurance provides peace of mind that, in case something happens, you don’t have to worry about paying for any health-related costs you may need or about being reimbursed for any travel expenses associated with flight delays or trip cancellations due to unforeseen reasons. It will also cover your possessions in the event that they are misplaced during the trip.

There are many options out there, so we suggest shopping around. Once you have it, please send proof of that insurance to team@wanderingearl.com for our records. You can do so by attaching a screenshot or downloading the policy confirmation.

Arrival in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan)

The tour’s official arrival day is May 14th. If you want to arrive a day early in order to get over any jet lag before we start exploring, we can arrange an extra night of accommodation for you at the hotel.

You will soon receive a travel arrangements form asking for your arrival details so that we can arrange your airport transfer and any extra accommodation you may need.

Departure from Tashkent (Uzbekistan)

The tour official departure day is May 29th, please note that the tour will finish in the city of Tashkent in Uzbekistan. You can book your departure flight any time during that day. If you plan to stay in Tashkent for an extra night or two, we can book extra nights of accommodation for you at the hotel we will use for the tour.

If you plan to remain in Uzbekistan or head to any nearby countries after the tour, we can offer any advice about where to go and what to do. We’d be happy to assist in any way we can as we are very familiar with this region of the world!
