Pyramids, temples, tombs, the grand Nile River, the glorious Petra, a night in the dramatic Wadi Rum desert…

What more do you need? It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore two of the most alluring countries on the planet.

It’s a trip through history, with an addition of grand markets and delicious local food. It’s an adventure that includes an overnight on a local felucca boat and another night in a desert yurt.

We’ll examine some of humanity’s most important locations while interacting with local people and learning about their way of life.

As always, this is not a typical tour. It’s a small group trip that combines the best sights with education, first-hand experience and a laid-back, awesome time everywhere we go!

This trip has two parts – a 10-day experience in Egypt and an optional 5-day extension to Jordan.

Activities (this is not everything, just a small sample!):

What other travelers say

We really enjoyed traveling with you as it felt more like traveling with friends than being stuck in a tour group. Every element of our time was thoughtfully planned, I never felt overwhelmed by our itinerary or underwhelmed by the sights we visited. It was really nice to have a say in what we did each day and feel that the tour was customized to us. To enjoy our experiences with such a small group was a pleasure!

I’ve never been on a group tour before, but I would definitely join one of your tours again. It was a perfect mix of city/town and nature, and Masha made it all the more special. She always knew what we needed and wanted. She was able to answer all our questions whether it was Kyrgyz culture, soviet history and everything in between. If you ever branch further into the Stans, Central Asia or the Middle East I will definitely be booking a place on a tour!
Amy M. (Ireland)
Thank you for putting together an OUTSTANDING tour! Not only are you the best tour guide on planet earth, but you’re also a great person and really watched out for everyone. I’m lucky I got the chance to meet you and can call you my friend.
Daphne L. (USA)
I love the fact that the pace was relaxing and we had some time on our own, which is not like your typical tour that rushes you from one place to another. Yet, I felt that we did a lot and saw so much more than I ever expected! I liked that we did many things off the beaten track... which makes it extra special! The 4WD excursion was out of this world and the private camp in the desert! All the little surprises along the way...loved and appreciate all that...You are truly a great host and guide!

Morocco was beyond amazing!! Your trips have been spectacular on every level…can’t wait for the next one. I don’t know what expression of thank you really expresses the gratitude I have for these amazing experiences and memories, but i hope you realize how appreciated all of the energy you put into these trips is. Traveling with you has become my incentive to work more…lol!
Maxine H.
What a trip of a lifetime for all…..truly outstanding and we owe it all to your preparation and easy going manner.

Thank you for organizing such a nice trip, I'm so glad I decided to join in the last minute. It meets every expectation I have...sometimes much more than that. I'm looking forward to join your India tour next time.

In 1999 I began living, traveling and working around the world. I’ve taught English in Thailand, worked as a Tour Manager on board cruise ships and I've run a popular travel blog, WanderingEarl.com, for the past 9 years. In 2012, I started Wandering Earl Tours, and I've been organizing and leading tours in over a dozen countries ever since.

When asked why I travel, my answer is always the same. People. I'm addicted to meeting new people that I would never have met if I wasn't traveling. Through these interactions I am able to gain a first-hand education like no other and that education alone is exactly what keeps me on the road for so long. As a result, organizing and leading super-fun trips has been the perfect match for me!
