Exciting cities, untouched villages, medieval history, strong culture, excellent food, beautiful nature and welcoming people.

For four years Romania was my ‘home base’ and there’s a reason why…no matter what your interests may be, no matter what you like to gain from your travels, this country has it all.

And the above is just a tiny selection of what Romania provides for those who visit.

On this Romania tour, we’re going to cover the country from the cities to the villages to the remote countryside, taking in a wide variety of destinations and activities that each offers its own unique and rewarding travel experience.

Come see why this country is considered to be one of Europe’s last remaining hidden gems!

What other travelers say

Wandering through Romania was an incredible trip in every way: great sights, great people, and everything was very well-organized. Earl did a great job of planning an excellent trip in which we got to visit many beautiful places (both well-known and off the beaten path) all while in the company of a small, cohesive group of like-minded travelers. I’ve traveled to 40+ countries and this trip still stands out in my mind as one of the best I’ve been on. I would highly recommend Wandering Earl tours!

I had always been hesitant to go on an organized tour; I hated the idea of being herded from one place to another without time to really see or enjoy anything. This was certainly not the case with our tour! I felt that the pace was perfect, with enough activities planned to keep our days full, but with enough free time to relax and do our own thing. Although we had a schedule to keep I never felt rushed, we always had plenty of time to explore. Earl took the time to get to know us, and went out of his way to make sure we were having a great time. I absolutely would not hesitate to go on another of Earl’s tours, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a wonderful travel experience.

10/10.  You were an excellent host... Loved the range of activities, number and length of breaks was great, never felt rushed, and I really felt like I experienced the “real” Romania... I really wouldn’t change a thing.

In 1999 I began living, traveling and working around the world. I’ve taught English in Thailand, worked as a Tour Manager on board cruise ships and I've run a popular travel blog, WanderingEarl.com, for the past 9 years. In 2012, I started Wandering Earl Tours, and I've been organizing and leading tours in over a dozen countries ever since.

When asked why I travel, my answer is always the same. People. I'm addicted to meeting new people that I would never have met if I wasn't traveling. Through these interactions I am able to gain a first-hand education like no other and that education alone is exactly what keeps me on the road for so long. As a result, organizing and leading super-fun trips has been the perfect match for me!
