There are actually not enough stars to rate Wandering Earl Tours! I’ve taken 2 trips so far and have been more than satisfied both times. The off the beaten path destinations, the charismatic local guides, the delicious foods and the excellent accommodations are what make his journeys unique. And Derek makes everybody feel welcome and secure at all times, his trips are well worth the money and I look forward to traveling with him again!

Morocco was beyond amazing!! Your trips have been spectacular on every level…can’t wait for the next one. I don’t know what expression of thank you really expresses the gratitude I have for these amazing experiences and memories, but i hope you realize how appreciated all of the energy you put into these trips is. Traveling with you has become my incentive to work more…lol!

This company ruins me for other tours. Off beat places, home visits, great small hotels and restaurants, awesome food, great local guides, fun adventures and great people. I didn’t want to leave!

Let me tell you, the value you get out of your money is mind-blowing. Derek made sure everyone was as comfortable and happy as possible, while still helping you get out of your comfort zone. He helped our group to be shaped as a community, and all of us connected on an extremely deep level thanks to him, but what blew my mind was all the amazing places we stayed at and visited, all the incredible gourmet and traditional meals we had and all of the experiences he shared with us. Trust me, wherever you go, it’ll be 10 times as expensive and 10 times more boring that if you’d have gone with Wandering Earl Tours, so don’t think twice about it.

I would give Wandering Earl Tours 10 stars if I could! This tour was so fantastic.

I can not say enough good things about the trip and there’s no way to express in words how grateful I am of the experience. You really paid attention to everyone’s individual interests and genuinely wanted to make everyone happy. It felt so personalized. The service was concierge level! All the little details and surprises you put into the tour just made it so special… and you were able to answer everyones questions with your knowledge of the country!! The accommodations, drivers, and other guides were awesome too! I can go on forever. I only took away great memories and I look forward to doing another tour in the future!

I wish I could give Wandering Earl at least 10 stars. I’ve been on many tours and this was by far the best. Derek organizes such unique, interesting and fun tours!

I can’t begin to express the level of service, the stress-free travel, and the genuine caring I enjoyed on my recent trip. Derek is a first rate guide, extraordinaire! I am now regarding other company’s tours as “bleh” as I have been spoiled.

The textile tour was beyond anything I could have imagined. I loved the people to people contact with villagers that I’d never experience on any other “touristy” tour. We had a superb tour manager. He added so much to the group and handled every situation. Such an interesting life he has lead and those experiences enhanced our experiences. He is a real treasure. Our local guides were excellent, too. Kuldip in Kutch knows his stuff and as he guided us through the local remote craft villages, he educated us on responsible tourism. His pride in his country showed through. I can’t say enough about our drivers! They each deserve a Medal of Honor for getting us safely from place to place! The tour itself was well thought out, I loved seeing these communities in action, going about their daily lives. It certainly makes you look at their products with new eyes. These are such hard working folks. I absolutely loved being on this tour. What a great way to see the real India. I also appreciate the ease of contacting you and other representatives of your company. Y’all were always available and so helpful when questions arose.

Thank you for such a well thought out and memorable trip. The sights and people of Morocco are wonderful. I appreciated you feeding my nerdy self with information on the geography, animals and plants of Morocco. The meals were laid back and wonderful and I appreciated the pace. Truly memorable. Thank you for your hard work, phenomenal organization and attention to the needs of the group. 

We really enjoyed traveling with you as it felt more like traveling with friends than being stuck in a tour group. Every element of our time was thoughtfully planned, I never felt overwhelmed by our itinerary or underwhelmed by the sights we visited. It was really nice to have a say in what we did each day and feel that the tour was customized to us. To enjoy our experiences with such a small group was a pleasure!

The trip was terrific! I really loved every minute of it. Our tour leader’s flexibility and desire to make this trip wonderful for each individual was another positive. He was exceptional in meeting everyone’s needs and working out issues among the travelers which I found remarkable. He’s definitely found his calling! Other than that, the choice of local guides was spot on. The villages we visited were each more interesting than the next. The temples and sites we visited were each fascinating and perfect! I loved the hands on nature of the trip. All in all it definitely met my expectations.

The trip was amazing, on every level. Your experience and curiosity has created an amazing itinerary, and your willingness to accommodate the random wishes that came up was above and beyond. India is just endless fascination. The accommodations were great, and as someone that doesn’t really care about the food experience…it was great!!

I loved the mix of days we had on our own to do whatever and organized/scheduled stuff. I really enjoyed the local guided tours of certain cities. I wasn’t sure about group travel. as I mostly travel alone. But the way you handled group dynamics, keeping things moving along (but not rushed) and making sure there was time for us to go off on our own made a big difference. I also genuinely liked the people on the tour and enjoyed getting to know them better.

Definitely best of the best! Every detail of the trip is extremely well planned and organized, from accommodations, meals, explorations and activities with some flexibility to make every person in the group happy. Very unique locations, less touristy spots, sometimes places where there is no one around. Super cool local guides that take you off the beaten path. Great friendly atmosphere, lots of fun, tons of adventures and always some element of surprise, because everything exceeds your expectations. I am not going with anybody else ever! Period!

I have been raving about the trip to anyone who asks about it (and even those who have not!). This trip is the best trip I have ever taken… our tour leader has a great sense of humor (and very distinctive laugh), knew so much about all the places we went, checked out each kitchen before he would let us eat at that restaurant, was willing to give up his room for us when the situation made it necessary, and did his best to add things to our agenda based on what we wanted, (Gandhi’s house in my case), and all in all helped make the trip wonderful. What I liked best about the 3 weeks was the variety of activities. Every day was a new adventure, whether we were visiting a palace and step well, going on a safari or seeing how different fabrics and crafts were made and decorated. I liked the fact that we had hands on experiences.

10/10.  You were an excellent host…loved the range of activities, number and length of breaks was great, never felt rushed, and I really felt like I experienced the “real” Romania… I really wouldn’t change a thing.

My tour to Morocco with the Wandering Earl Team was the best of my many years of travel. From the ease of registering for the tour to the final ride to the airport for my flight home, all details were expertly executed. This tour was one of the best I’ve ever taken – and I’ve been on at least 15 – 20, including cruises. It’s hard to say what was the best part. Definitely the time in the desert, although I really liked the earlier time also. The trip to the salt marsh and all the crafts in the little villages in the desert was fantastic. Having hands-on experiences in the crafts was well worth the time. All-in-all it was an absolutely fantastic tour!

Overall, the trip was amazing. There is no way I could have planned a trip of this magnitude. Your experiences and the connections that you have made in India allowed me, and I am sure the others, to have the best time. It’s an overwhelming country, intense and beautiful – thank you for helping us navigate India!

I had always been hesitant to go on an organized tour as I hated the idea of being herded from one place to another without time to really see or enjoy anything. This was certainly not the case with our tour! I felt that the pace was perfect, with enough activities planned to keep our days full, but with enough free time to relax and do our own thing. Although we had a schedule to keep I never felt rushed, we always had plenty of time to explore. Our tour leader took the time to get to know us, and went out of his way to make sure we were having a great time. I absolutely would not hesitate to go on another tour with Wandering Earl Tours, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a wonderful travel experience.

Wandering through Romania was an incredible trip in every way: great sights, great people, and everything was very well-organized. This was an excellent trip in which we got to visit many beautiful places (both well-known and off the beaten path) all while in the company of a small, cohesive group of like-minded travelers. I’ve traveled to 40+ countries and this trip still stands out in my mind as one of the best I’ve been on. I would highly recommend it!

The trip was absolutely wonderful!

I have been on two of the Wandering Earl tours (India and Morocco) and would 200% recommend them to anyone who wants an incredible travel experience.

This was an AMAZING tour of Romania! Derek is so professional and yet was so friendly and personable. Every single detail was thought of and planned out and yet the pace was relaxed with just the perfect amount of free time built in. I can’t rate this tour or company above 5 stars or I would. So looking forward to traveling with these fine folks again.

It was such an amazing and positive experience! First time on a group tour and I am glad I did. I was very impressed with how smooth the trip was and if I had planned this trip on my own, I don’t think i would have seen those places we went to…fascinating places I had never heard about before. I also loved meeting new people and connecting with everyone!

It was an awesome experience, great guide, wonderful people in our group, magnificent scenery and good food. It is impossible to choose a “favorite” part. It was all so wonderfully overwhelming. 

I loved it, all of it was amazing! I’m keen to go on the next adventure!! My favorites were the camel ride and glamping in the dunes, pool time at Riad Madu (honestly it was pretty sweet to have a view of the dunes poolside), and everything we did in the Dades Valley and Marrakech. Thank you so much!

I love the fact that the pace was relaxing and we had some time on our own, which is not like your typical tour that rushes you from one place to another. Yet, I felt that we did a lot and saw so much more than I ever expected! I liked that we did many things off the beaten track… which makes it extra special. The trip was out of this world and the private camp in the desert was amazing. All the little surprises along the way…loved and appreciate all that!

Thank you for putting together an OUTSTANDING tour! Not only did we have the best tour guide on planet earth, but he was a great person and really watched out for everyone.

I honestly don’t believe I could have asked for a better taste of India and keep recommending you for anyone who wants a group tour. This trip was the best trip I have ever been on! What made it stand apart (aside from the location) was the attention to details and flexibility that the Wandering Earl Tours team demonstrated. It was a comprehensive tour of a fascinating country that didn’t feel touristy. Traveling during Covid has its challenges but the team met all the challenges and far exceeded the groups expectations. I will 100% travel with them again and hopefully very soon!
