Wander Across India – Pre-Trip Information

February 19th – March 5th, 2023

Passport

You will need a passport to travel to India. Your passport should be valid until at least October 2023 and it needs to have 2 full empty pages.

If you don’t have enough empty pages, please contact us and we will send you instructions for getting a new passport in time for the tour.

Visa

Every traveler to India needs a visa.

• US citizens and German citizens may now easily obtain an “E-Visa”. As a result, you can skip the process of obtaining a tourist visa from the Indian Embassy and can simply take care of the procedures online. As the tour gets closer we will be sending out the specific instructions for obtaining your visa as you cannot apply for the visa until 30 days before the trip starts. The process is relatively straightforward and costs about $50 USD.
• Canadian citizens need to obtain a visa from the Indian Embassy/Consulate. To apply for this visa, please make an appointment at BLS – the official Indian visa processing agency in Canada – at your earliest convenience. BLS will provide you with the visa instructions.

Covid-19

As Covid-19 entry requirements are constantly changing, we will keep you fully updated about what is needed in order to enter India. As of right now, a vaccination certificate OR a negative PCR test are required in order to enter the country. 

Travel/Health Insurance

In order to participate in this tour, you will have to provide proof of travel/health insurance. Travel insurance provides peace of mind that, in case something happens, you don’t have to worry about paying for any health-related costs you may need or about being reimbursed for any travel expenses associated with flight delays or trip cancellations due to unforeseen reasons. It will also cover your possessions in the event that they are misplaced during the trip.

There are many options out there so we do suggest shopping around. Once you have travel insurance, please send us proof of that insurance for our records. You can do so via email by attaching a screenshot or download of your policy confirmation.

Arrival in Delhi

The tour’s official arrival day is February 19th. If you want to arrive a day early, in order to get over any jet lag before we start exploring, we can arrange an extra night of accommodation for you at the hotel.

You will soon receive a travel arrangements form asking for your arrival details so that we can arrange your airport transfer and any extra accommodation you may need.

Departure from Delhi

The tour finishes in Delhi and the official departure day is March 5th. You can book your departing flight from Delhi at any time on that day. If you plan to remain in India, we can assist with any post-trip planning you might need.
